late December 1996 - DHP along with Peri Gilpin, Jane Leeves, and Dan Butler attended the British Comedy Awards where the show picked up an award for Best International Comedy Series of 1996. They were all in Britain to attend Jane's wedding.
December 20, 1996 - DHP does the voice of the very Germanic hunting fanatic Baron von Lichtenstamp in an episode of Mighty Ducks: The Animated Series, entitled "The Most Dangerous Duck Hunt." Synopsis -- The Ducks visit the island of Lichtenstamp to investigate shipments of solaranite from there to the Saurians. But the island's deranged ruler forces them to be the prey in his hunt.
December 9, 1996 - DHP helped introduce Kerry McCluggage, chairman of the Paramount Television Group at a function in her honor at the Beverly Wilshire.
November 15, 1996 - The New York Friars Club roasted Kelsey Grammer at the New York Hilton Hotel. David Hyde Pierce served as roastmaster. Other celebrity participants included Grammer's "Frasier" co-stars Peri Gilpin and Jane Leeves, and "Cheers" cohorts Bebe Neuwirth and Kirstie Alley. DHP entertained the crowd with tales of Grammer's flatulence and his predilection for wearing shorts without underwear at rehearsal.
October 15, 1996 - made a guest appearance on the show "Caroline in the City" as IRS auditor Jimmy Callaghan whose one dream is to be in the musical "Cats" in the episode 27 of the series from season 2, entitled Caroline and the Cat Dancer. October 8, 1996 - "Star Trek: 30 Years and Beyond." DHP, John Mahoney, Jane Leeves, and Peri Gilpin of "Frasier" along with "Star Trek: Voyager" star Kate Mulgrew, performed a parody sketch of "Star Trek: Voyager."
September 15, 1996 - made a guest appearance on the show "The Outer Limits" as Dr. Jack Henson in the episode 2 of season 1, entitled "The Sentence." He won a Cable Ace Award for his portrayal of an inventor who creates a "virtual prison" which enables convicts to serve a life sentence in just a few hours. September 19, 1996 - Guest on "Later with Greg Kinnear." He played the opening of Liszt's First Piano Concerto.
September 16, 1996- Guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Other guests: Bette Midler, "Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da Funk" performance.
September 8, 1996 - Presenter along with Jane Leeves for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the 48th Annual Emmy Awards. They performed the tango as they came out to present.
August 24-25, 1996 - DHP and Ed Begley Jr., joined by 100 other Habitat for Humanity volunteers, wielded hammers in Los Angeles, building homes in the Watts community for two families. It was a Blitz Building event celebrating the organization's 20th anniversary. To see a photo, click here.

June 28, 1996 - DHP participated in the second annual "Music Tells a Tale" family night at the Hollywood Bowl. DHP provided the narrative to Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf" accompanied by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. DHP threw his whole body into words and music, starting with the misinformation that the piece "begins with the theme of the giant squid," prompting the orchestra to break into a "Jaws" intro.

April 21, 1996 - DHP was among other celebrity storytellers who participated in "Our Favorite Stories," a benefit for East L.A's Second Street School at Every Picture Tells a Story in West Hollywood.
